Charlie Chaplin was an English comic actor, filmmaker, and composer who rose to fame in the era of silent film. Controversial in the U.S. as an accused communist sympathizer, he was still recognized as one of the most influential people of the century. Most of his films were created during the silent film era until the release of "The Great Dictator", his first 'talkie' film in 1940. Because of the age of his older films, most have had to be remade using the best available clips from reels found from around the world. A few have been restored with modern technology. A few were lost for decades but recently rediscovered and are not in the best shape.  

This collection contains all 80 films that star or feature Chaplin, and one unauthorized short created by a studio that he once worked for using outtakes from other films. The silent films include music accompaniment, but not with the original music that Chaplin composed for the films.
