Notes: "Event Number Eight" (The eight wonder of the world) is a pretty good CD of an unusual performance given by Elvis at the Houston Astrodome in front of 44175 peoples.
Wrongly dated as Afternoon Show.
Concert: This show is unusual because the Joe Guercio's orchestra wasn't there, it's only Elvis , his rhythm band and his back-up singers. Given the above this soundboard recording has a warm feeling of a very small venue since you cannot hear the crowd too much (they were quite far from the stage). You'll certainly understand what I mean while listening to "Help Me" which sounds almost like an undubbed studio version. You can also feel James Burton , Ronnie Tutt and the other members giving little extras for making it a fuller sound. Most of the performances are excellent but some of the highlights would be , Trying To Get To You , Johnny B. Goode , I Can't Stop Loving You , Help Me , Let Me Be There. As with the first Madison release (Breathing Out Fire) the packaging is professionally done and does look great.
All in all a very good show from a very good tour.
